Startronics in Los Angeles specialized in all your car needs Can protect your Car's Paint

by Eddie Borgwardt

Putting customized parts and modifications in your isn't all just for show. In many instances, these mods are just as practical as they are pretty: they can make the car go faster or handle better, for example, or protect your auto from being damaged. And if you've already put a lot of time and expense into your car, then a few precautionary measures have to be taken.

A good example of this is Smoked tail lights. This kind of tail lights has been covered by a film layer that makes them more opaque and darker. This layer can protect the glass of your lights from dirt and grit. Take note, however, that the local laws in your area may have laws against Smoked tail lights, so do your research and make sure your mods are street legal.

Less showy than Smoked tail lights and much more practical are the Clear bras paint protection systems. These also lay down an additional, almost invisible layer of film over you car. They're applied to the front bumper, and areas like side mirrors and headlights, which are often subjected to small collisions with flying road debris, like loose gravel.

Over time, these small collisions may become visible as scratches and small gouges in your paint job, leading to a very expensive repainting session at your car shop. A paint bra system may be an additional initial expense, but in the long run, it'll save you the money you lose getting costly paint repair jobs. And when your Clear bra system has taken enough punishment, you can peel it off to reveal the unscratched paint underneath, and just replace it with another film again.

But sometimes, even with all this protection, you'll still end up with some annoying small dents and dings in your car anyway. But don't worry so much about it- these dents don't automatically mean a lot of money spent on dent repair and repainting.

PDR Paintless dent removal techniques can smooth it all out in a meter of hours, and, if the paint hasn't been broken, no repainting is necessary. This is why PDR also costs much less than traditional dent removal techniques- all it takes is a set of specialized tools to smooth out the dings, and a skilled, and very patient car technician.

Modifying your car looks cool, but it's not all about simple aesthetics. Many customizations have more functional purposes- they can make the car run faster or smoother, for instance, or help to defend your car from any damage- if you've spent a lot of time and cash on your ride, the last thing you want is for all of that to be ruined by scratches and dings.
