Use Hypnosis To Beat The Hold Of A Social Phobia
Social phobia is one of the most common anxiety disorders in which a person is afraid of being in a social environment. An individual with social phobia experiences incapacitating fear that affects all aspects of their life.
People with social phobia are very self-conscious and concerned about what others may say or think about them. They are usually afraid of voicing their opinions, out of fear that they might be judged or berated. People with social anxiety tend to look down on themselves or suffer from negative feelings about themselves. They are worried about being noticed by other people and find socializing to be quite stressful.
Some people with social phobia may seem "shy," but in the case of a phobia, this is taken to extremes. For instance, if you suffer from social phobia, you may be reluctant to make an important call because you're nervous about talking on the phone. You finally make the phone call, but you're so nervous that you "lock up" or forget why you called. Although it happens to everyone once in awhile, for someone with social phobia it may occur every time, to the point where they find it impossible to make any calls.
Imagine it is the night before a big presentation at work and you find yourself unable to fall asleep. You dread the thought of being in front of a room with your boss and all your colleagues watching as you discuss a project or an idea. You can't help but feel very self-conscious and embarrassed. Even after the meeting ends, you continue overanalyzing everything you said and did. You fear that you embarrassed yourself in front of your colleagues by stuttering or saying something wrong.
Or perhaps you would like to go to parties and make friends, but you avoid socializing because you're nervous about meeting someone new. You find the crowds daunting and the thought of meeting someone new scares you. You worry about saying the right thing, or that you'll get rejected. You might end up staying at home a lot because you're too scared about going out. These are only a few of the ways social phobias can affect our lives.
Social phobias are irrational fears that can stop you from achieving your professional goals or enjoying your life. But even those who realize their fears are irrational may not be able to rid themselves of their fears. People with social anxiety would love to be more outgoing and meet new people, but are too afraid to try. In spite of their conscious desires and best efforts, they can't shake their phobia because all phobias are rooted at the unconscious mind. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are the most helpful phobia treatments because they resolve issues at the unconscious level.
It is often hard for those afflicted with social anxiety to get help because they can be too scared to see a therapist or discuss their anxieties. This is among the reasons why hypnotherapy programs are appropriate for them. The programs foster a confidence boosting, calm mind frame in a privacy, without being intimidating or overwhelming.
The first stage in a phobia program is stress relief. Hypnosis therapy is a powerful tool for eliminating your anxiety and tension. At the moment when you are completely relaxed, hypnotherapy techniques will promote positive thoughts in your unconscious and end your phobia. NLP techniques are used to eliminate your fears by specifically targeting the process of thought that is responsible for a phobia.
In conventional hypnotherapy, distinctively worded post-hypnotic suggestions are used to treat each unique phobia. Unfortunately, people have a tendency to resist being directly told what to do or think, so conventional hypnotherapy does not always work. A deep-seated phobia calls for a combination of NLP and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.
Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques work better than conventional hypnotherapy because they utilize suggestions that are not apparent to the conscious mind, versus direct suggestions. These ideas are hidden in conversation, in different stories and metaphors, to convince the unconscious to follow a different line of reasoning. This is why Ericksonian hypnotherapy is much more refined than traditional hypnotic therapy and far harder for the unconscious to resist.
A program that includes Ericksonian hypnotic therapy and NLP techniques can treat social phobia and any other phobia, in any person. This is because a variety of techniques are combined to maximize their effectiveness. People are often in awe of the seemingly miraculous results they can get through hypnotherapy. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP are excellent tools to help build your confidence and beat social anxiety so you will be able to fully enjoy life.
